Roger Norrell

Jimmy Roger Norrell Sr, age 80, of Tallassee, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on September 9, 2021. Roger, as he is known, is a lifelong resident of the Friendship community in Tallassee, Alabama. As a young man, he earned the rank of Eagle scout in the Boy Scouts. He is a graduate of Tallassee High School and he is retired from a career in insurance sales and automobile sales where he perfected his craft in the art of sales. Roger was a 50 plus year member of the masonic lodge and a long time member of Liberty Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday school director, song director and taught Sunday school. Roger was most proud of his title as husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and he deeply loved all his family. Roger is preceded in death by his daughter Gwendolyn Ann Norrell, his mother and father Alpha C. and Ollie R. Norrell, and his brother William Timothy Norrell. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Patricia Ann Norrell, his son and daughter-in-law Jimmy and Sherry Norrell, his granddaughters Amber Nicole (Norrell) Sarquiz (husband James Sarquiz), Brittney Meagan (Norrell) Smith (husband Zach Smith), his great granddaughter Ryleigh Rey Smith, his brothers Charles Norrell (Judy), Virgil Norrell (Wanda), numerous nieces, nephews and friends, and his precious puppy Lilly Bell. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Liberty Baptist Church, 574 Liberty Road, Tallassee, Alabama. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. with funeral services immediately following and burial in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
