Audie White

Audie “Merle” White, 89, of Angleton, Texas, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Vada Hewett Potts, and Husband, Derone B. White. Left to cherish her memory are her life partner, Bill Shelton; Sons, Jerry Martin and wife, Linda, Lesley Martin and wife, Florence; Grandchildren, Michael Martin, Daniel Martin, Valerie Shannon and husband, Jerry; Great Grandchildren, Courtney Hubbard and Husband Dustin, Amber, Nolon, and Natalie Shannon; Brothers, Larry Potts, Mickey Potts; and a host of other family and dear friends. Merle was born on December 6, 1931, in Tuxedo, Texas. She loved her family more than anything and never passed up a chance to spend time with them. She was a blessing to our family. She never met a stranger and always made you feel welcome and part of the family. She was the best Mother and Mother-in-law anyone could ask for. She loved going dancing at the American Legion and spending time with her friends, going and eating lunch at the old hotel in Blessing Texas. We will never forget her laugh and smile. She never made anyone feel like they did not belong. We will never forget the camping trips when she was with us. She made the best mac & cheese ever. We will miss her very much. We would like to say a very special thank you to Alfredo the ICU Nurse at Memorial Hermann Hospital that was with our Mother the night she passed. You are an Angel. In lieu of flowers please make a contribution to the Alzheimer’s Association or your favorite charity in her name. A visitation and funeral service will take place for Merle on Monday, September 13, 2021, at Palms Funeral Home. The visitation will begin at 2:00 pm and continue until the start of the service at 3:00 pm. Online condolences may be sent to the White family at www.palmsfuneralhome.com.
