Eleanor M. Cowie (nee Jones), 93, of Chester, NJ passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at St. Clare's Hospital in Dover, NJ. Eleanor was born on February 15, 1928 in Newark, NJ where she grew up. Eleanor was a 1945 graduate of St. Peter's Commercial Highschool. She has lived in Chester Township, NJ for over 70 years. Eleanor was a proud homemaker and always put her kids and family first. She was a lifetime member of the catholic church and was devoted to God. She could always be found with a rosary in her hand. Eleanor also enjoyed music and dancing with her husband. Eleanor is survived by her children, Sharon Melone Orme, Colleen Troup and husband John, Robert J. Cowie Jr. and wife Cindy, Nancy Farrelly and husband Jim, and Rick Cowie her grandchildren, Fred Melone, Mike Troup, Jaime Fialcowitz, Sean Farrelly, and Kevin Farrelly, and 4 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert in 2008. A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 10:30am at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester, NJ.
