<p>Gloria Ann Jacobs, age 85 of Baxter, died on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at The Emeralds at Grand Rapids.</p> <p>A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew&rsquo;s Catholic Church. Friends and family are welcome to gather at the church for one hour prior to the service. Private interment will take place at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Ripley.</p> <p>Gloria was born on February 10, 1936 to Harry and Josephine (Mappes) Wittkopf in Hayward, WI. She graduated from Superior East High School. She was a former resident of Superior, WI and Silver Bay, MN where she was active in the Mrs. Jaycee&rsquo;s and League of Women Voters. She was a proud member of St. Andrew&rsquo;s Catholic Church. For many years, as the seasons allowed, Gloria would walk every day and be greeted by her friends and their pets along her route.&nbsp; She was an avid reader and had an impressive knowledge of religious history across the world. She also had a strong interest in archeology. She was adamant in her daily prayer and commitment to the St. Joseph&rsquo;s Indian School in South Dakota. Gloria was loved by all who knew her and will be remembered for her loyalty, honesty, caring personality, and her strong love of family.</p> <p>Gloria is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Gerald; three children, Lori Sprankle, of Clarksville, TN, Leslie Christensen of Brainerd, MN, and Steven Jacobs, of Madison, WI; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and three siblings.</p> <p>Arrangements are being completed by Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd.</p>
