Obituary
Rickie Lavon Dunlap was a loving son, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, and neighbor that will be missed and cherished by all. He was born on March 13, 1954, to the late Rayfield and Tomella Dunlap in Memphis, Tennessee. He accepted Christ as his Savior at First Tabernacle under the leadership of Robert Cole Jr. He was renowned for his excellent skills in home renovations and auto mechanics. There wasn’t anything that he couldn’t fix. Rickie never met a stranger. He loved to spend time with his family barbequing, dancing, and singing. He spent his free time sitting on the porch singing the “Blues” and talking with his neighbors and friends. He loved sports and favored the Tennessee Titans and the University of Memphis Tigers. His Sunday evenings were dedicated to watching Western and Horror movies. He never failed to show his love for his family and made sure that he called every day to express his love. Rickie’s children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were his heart and joy. He will truly be missed by all. On Wednesday, September 1, 2021, God called one of his angels, Rickie Dunlap, home after 67 years of valiant service. Loved ones that cleared the lighted path for Rickie are his father, Rayfield Dunlap, mother, Tomella Dunlap, and brother, Alvin Ray Dunlap. Rickie is survived by his significant other, Stephanie Blanton of 26 years, his seven children, Gail Dunlap Conner (Chad), Shuntina Dunlap Cann (Tysonn), Rickie Dunlap Jr., Antoinette Dunlap, Rockshell Dunlap, Ronrico Dunlap (Crystal), Cassandra Dunlap, 26 grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
