Linzie Allen Brim passed into his Lord and Savior's loving arms Monday, September 6th, 2021, at the age of 61. He will be sorely missed by all. Linzie served Christ and his family as completely as a man could. He served in the military across many countries to include numerous tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, both as an Army officer and, as a civilian contractor. His 3 children are all proudly serving on active duty in the US Army. Linzie was born to Ella Marie and Horace Don Brim on April 1, 1960, and grew up in Silsbee, Texas. He graduated from Silsbee High School in 1978. He started his military career in 1981, then got his 2nd Lieutenant bars when he graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, with minors in Biology and Chemistry. He retired as a Captain in the US Army in 2009. In the Army, Linzie served as a Combat Medic, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Hospital Administration, Maintenance Officer, Ambulance Company Commander, Combat Training Officer, and a Theater Aviation Logistics and Operations Officer. He served in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Over the span of his career, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal 2nd Award, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Lapel Button, and the Kuwait Defense Medal. After he retired from the Army in 2009, Linzie then graduated from Angelina College with an Associate degree in Nursing-LVN. He served his community for many years working in the nursing homes with compassion, dignity, and most of all, love. Linzie loved his wife of 27 ½ years, children, honorary children, friends and the Lord. He will be remembered as a sweet, kind, and loving man who enjoyed family, friends, cars, and the outdoors. Linzie is survived by his wife, Laurie; his children Macey, Landon, and Philip; his brother Randy; sister Laura; Brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Ron and Sharon, Kathy and Gary, Pete and Sissy; nephews: Ryan and Andy; nieces: Rachel, Ashley, Megan, Morgan, Mallory, and McKenzie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie and Don Brim, sister, Paula, and niece Allison. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2021, at the First United Methodist Church, 701 E. Goliad Ave. Crockett Texas. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. prior to service at the First United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2021, Knupple Cemetery in Silsbee, Texas.
