Dorothy S. Young Cochran, age 85, of Cartersville, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Spires at Berry College. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2021 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Cartersville with Rev. Darrell Tidwell, Rev. Byron Chastain and Rev. David Young officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Cochran will lie-in-state at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at Sosebee Funeral home on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Cochran was of the Baptist Faith. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, cooking and baking. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Samuel David Young, Sr.; son, Bernie Dwight Young; and grandson, Brian Young. Survivors include her husband, Donald Cochran; three sons, Rev. David Young (Melinda), Kevin Young (Kelly) and Dike Young (Carrie); thirteen grandchildren, Misty, Sam, Nicole, Trey, Brooke, Brittany, Arthur, Hillary, Tiffany, Hannah, Melanie, Jamie and Jordon; eight great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
