Lura Bell Coggins Driver of Tallapoosa, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Buchanan, Georgia on December 3, 1938, daughter of the late Jewell and Kate Chaney Coggins. Mrs. Driver was a member of Bethany Baptist Church for many years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Driver; daughter Candace Mewborn; and a sister Florence Coggins. Survivors include her children, Ginger McKinzie of Tallapoosa, Becky and Dennis Queen of Douglasville, Dewanna Driver of Fernandina Beach, Florida and Wendall and Dawn Driver of Canton, Georgia; a sister, Glenda Causey; grandchildren, Dalton McKinzie, Mayson McKinzie, Lynn and Tony Whatley, Leah and Jared Mathis, Mark and Jill Driver, Jennifer and Matt Mashburn, Brandon and Christina Brown, Alisha and Anthony Mewborn and Angela Campbell; great grandchildren, J.D. Driver, Josh Driver, Andrew Mashburn, Brayden Mathis, Bella Mathis, Baylor Mathis, Kylie Brown, Bri Shannon, Landon Mewborn, Brycen Mewborn, Emma Kate Mewborn and Winston Campbell; nephew, Chris and Amy Causey; niece, Mandy Causey; great - niece Bri Smith; and great - nephew Ben Causey. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 10, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM and on Saturday morning, September 11, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Services will be Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Minister Chuck Graves officiating. Dalton McKinzie, Mayson McKinzie, Chris Causey, Dennis Queen, Jared Mathis and Ben Causey will serve as Pallbearers. Earl Causey will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer. Interment will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.
