Gerald Ralph DeVaney Obituary

Gerald Ralph DeVaney was born September 1, 1952, in Paintsville, Kentucky and entered eternal paradise at Mountain View Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. 

He retired from the New Mexico State Highway and Transportation Department as a Maintenance Supervisor III after 28 years and retired from his second career with Tresco, Inc. as an Administrative Assistant after 12 years of service. 

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Vivian Rayetta (Harrison) DeVaney of Deming; four daughters, Cassandra (Carl) Sanner and children Jordan (Ari), Cheyanne (Edward) Ciarra (Andy), Trey (Megan) and Chase; Cherish (Rob) Sweetser and children Robbie and Rebecca; Crystal (Daniel) Gonzales and children Serenity and DJ and Carissa (Daniel) Teeter and children Matthew, Julieann, Caiden, Jacob and Jasper;  two great-grandchildren Andres and Aurora; brother, Jim (Rose) of Amarillo, TX, sister, Edith Campbell of Las Cruces, NM and sister-in-law's, Louise DeVaney of Mesa, AZ and Joyce DeVaney of Fort Collins, CO, as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glendell and Bernadine (Fawcett) DeVaney; brothers, Glendell Joe, David and John DeVaney and brother-in-law, Chris Campbell. 

Ralph was as kind as he was strong and will be dearly missed. Celebration in his Honor will be held at a later date. Cremation entrusted to the care of Baca’s Funeral Chapels.
