Leslie Maurice Blake

Leslie M. (Red) Blake gained his wings September 8, 2021, in a local hospital. He was born in Chattanooga Tennessee to Betty Ridley and the late Jimmy Blake, Sr. on September 8, 1964. He was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga. He loved singing, dancing, clowning, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father and brother-in-law, James Nelson. He leaves to cherish his memories, wife, Karen Blake; mother, Betty Ridley; daughters, Leslie Blake and LaJeanna McElvain; son, Henry McElvain II; sister, Karen Nelson; brothers, Jimmy Blake Jr., and Samuel Caffey; granddaughter, LeAsia Bell; sisters-in-law, Arnetta Blake; LaTonya Beamon, Keshia White, and Kappie Smith; brothers-in-law, Dedrick Smith Sr., Albert Beamon, Paul Higgins Jr; uncles, Rammond (Joyce) Blake, Joe and Leon Blake, all of Chattanooga; best friend, Jerome Carr; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Public viewing will be held 9am -12:30 pm Monday, September 20, 2021, followed by a graveside service at 1:00pm. Interment: Highland Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 423-622-9995.
