John L. Moore

John L. Moore, age 59, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 6, 2021 in Lafayette, Indiana. John was born on January 25, 1962 in Linton, Indiana to Larry and Patsy (Miller) Moore. He was a graduate of Owen Valley High School and was employed at Caterpillar for 34 years. John is survived by his three children Megan and her husband Josh Smith, Kayla and her husband Brandon Davis, and Riley Woodard; his partner Tanya Woodard, her two children Taylor and Madison, his four siblings Larry Moore Jr., Clint Moore, Linda Davis and Karen Melichar and his five grandchildren, Gwen, Emery, Amos, Ruxin, and Luna. John was the life of the party. He loved spending time with his family and friends. His hobbies included camping (Just one more, Moore) racing, fishing, telling “stories,” working in his shop, and being at the beach. He was a man that went by many names: Dad, Johnny Moore/Mo, JFM, Papaw, Poppy, and many more by those who loved and knew him. Family and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life with a visitation from 9:00 AM until the service at 12:00 PM Saturday September 11 at Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St. in Lafayette, LeeAnn Jones, Celebrant officiating. The interment will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is collecting donations to the IU Arnett Intensive Care Unit to show our support to the staff that cared for John.
