Beverly Erven Fort Macleod, Alberta Obituary

Beverly Erven

Beverly (Lounsbury) Erven (74) left us to join her boys in heaven on September 6th. She passed away peacefully at home. Bev was one of 7 children of Annettie and Joseph Lounsbury and was born in Birch River, Manitoba. She married Wayne Erven and they had four children: Kimberley, Sheldon, Lora Lee and Raymond. Sheldon’s time with the family was short, and he passed away at three months old. Wayne’s work took them to many different places in western Canada, but they finally landed in Fort Macleod to be closer to Bev’s family. There, they raised their three children. Wayne’s work often took him away from home so Bev always had a strong presence with her children. She was a great listener, and provided an everlasting influence to her family. This “super strength” of hers allowed her to become a strong confidante for all three children. All three often phoned home to mom to share their ideas and sort their concerns. As her grandchildren arrived, they too began building this strong relationship with their grandma, often fighting over who got to sleep in grandma’s room. She was a wonderful cheerleader and attended school concerts, hockey games, dance recitals, music concerts and swim meets to name a few. She has even been none to look after grand puppies and kitties. As the grandchildren grew they loved spending time with grandma and her wonderful sense of humour. She loved to spend time doing crafts, cross-stitching and scrapbooking and could always be found with a book in hand. These occasions, interacting with family, gave her the greatest joy. Bev had many hurtles in her life, facing the loss of her second son Raymond and husband, and deserved more than this life had to offer her.

Our hearts are broken into a million pieces and her mother Annettie; children Kim (Dale) and Lori; grandchildren Kaitlin (Christian), Taylor (Vince), Dezirae (Darren), Cyrena (Casey), Austin (Anna), Ray and Ava; step granddaughter Samantha; great grandchildren Kenneth, Christopher, Malachi, Dominic, McKinlee, McKenna, Skylar and Jayden, and her siblings (Joyce, Larry [Caroline] and Kevin [Teresa]) will miss her dearly. She was very dear to many.

Bev will be remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness and willingness to help others. She had a beautiful smile and was always genuine with her words and actions, and she was her families’ strength and stability.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Eden's Funeral Home, 2424 5th Ave, Fort Macleod, AB.

In honour of Bev, we ask for you to wear something blue as it was her favorite colour,

If you should choose, memorial donations to support research on heart disease, peripheral arterial disease and stroke can be placed at Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta at https://ucalgarary.ca/giving

Obituary
