On Monday, September 6, 2021 Marcel Gaétan Lafrenière of Bonnyville, Alberta passed away peacefully with family by his side at the age of 95 years.

Marcel will be forever remembered and loved by three daughters; Thérèse (Clarence) Romanick, Florence (Bryan) Curle, Claudette (Denis) Croteau; two sons: Roger (Lori Ann) Lafrenière, Mark (Irene) Lafrenière; sister: Lorraine Leduc; brother-in-law: Martin Ducharme (Laurette); three sisters-in-law:  Betty Lafrenière, Connie Ducharme, Margaret Ducharme; eleven grandchildren: Marcel Romanick (Kate), Danielle Christensen (Brian), Maurice Romanick (Priya), Rachelle Woods (Kent), Lloyd Curle (Natasha), Anick Croteau (Kevin), Nicole Scotton (Dustin), Jeffrey Lafrenière (Chrysteen), Patricia Brown (Billy), Joelle Lafrenière, Chantal Lafrenière; sixteen great grandchildren: Matias Romanick, Dylan Romanick, Cohen Christensen, Malia Christensen, Nathan Woods, Dominic Woods, Rowan Curle, Danica Mathews, Arianna Croteau, Mya Fusko, Caleb Scotton, Natalie Scotton, Raylin Lafrenière, Carter Brown, Kadence Brown, Alexis Brown;  Special friend: Lil Naylor.

Marcel was predeceased by his wife of 69 years; Juliette Lafrenière; parents: Alfred and Victoire Lafrenière; five sisters:  Delorès, Yolande, Gisèle, Muriel, Helen and their spouses; five brothers:  Romeo, Maurice, Roger, Yvon, Albert.

Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, September 10, 2021 at 11:30 a.m., St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, Bonnyville, Alberta with Father Limneo Zamora officiating. Final Resting Place, Holy Family Roman Catholic Cemetery, Bonnyville, Alberta. Pallbearers: Jeffrey Lafrenière, Lloyd Curle, Maurice Romanick, Dustin Scotton, Marcel Romanick, Billy Brown. Honourary Pallbearers: Danielle Christensen, Rachelle Woods, Anick Croteau, Nicole Scotton, Patricia Brown, Joelle Lafrenière, Chantal Lafrenière.
