<p>A public visitation will be held for Diane Qualey on October 2, 2021, from 11:00 - 2:00 PM at the American Legion in Middle River, MN.</p> <p>Diane Kay Qualey passed away on September 9, 2021 at her home in Middle River, at the age of 77.</p> <p>Diane was born in Duluth, MN on August 24, 1944 to Lawrence and Larraine (Hagen) Estness. She was the oldest of four children. She grew up in Duluth.</p> <p>Diane married Ronald Peterson and they had four children. After their separation she lived in the Biwabik, MN until 1986. In 1986 she moved to Middle River, MN. In 1986 she married Sheldon &ldquo;Shadow&rdquo; Qualey. They owned the Road House restaurant for a few years. After that she worked at Polaris for 15 years. She also worked various other jobs and at the American Legion as a bartender.</p> <p>Diane liked flowers, fishing, and playing cards. She loved dancing with her husband.</p> <p>Diane is survived by her children Cindy Davis, Connie Hipple and Taylor Mathews; step-children Jan (Lynn) Stenvik, Eric Qualey, and Jodi (Jalmer) Bernu; fourteen grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; siblings Judy Kelly, Gordy (Ann) Estness, Randy (Laurie) Estness; and sister-in-law Janet (Mark) Kujava.</p> <p>She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father Leo Lick; son Marty Peterson; and brother-in-law Garrett Kelley.</p>

Diane Kay Qualey passed away on September 9, 2021 at her home in Middle River, at the age of 77.

Diane was born in Duluth, MN on August 24, 1944 to Lawrence and Larraine (Hagen) Estness. She was the oldest of four children. She grew up in Duluth.
