Steven Randall “Randy” Smith, age 60 of Griffin, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Upson Regional Medical Center.

Randy was born in Griffin, Georgia on April 2, 1961. His father precedes him in death, William Larry Smith, Sr. He was employed by Swanton Welding Company. Randy was an important part of the leadership of Quest Community Church and Kingdom Training Center to which he was a founding member. Randy served God through many areas of ministry including his favorite, children’s ministry, as a pastor. The children adored him. His favorite thing to do in this ministry was the “Not Too Bright” clown skits. Every time he put on that costume it was endless laughs from everyone, children and adults alike.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Smith; children, Heather Smith (Roger), Christopher Hestley, Chase Smith (Jasmine), Matthew Hestley, Jace Smith, Kristine Sturgill, Zachary Sturgill; grandchildren, Trinity Smith, Emma Smith, Kannon Smith, Charlie Smith, Lily Smith, Abi Cole, Zach Cole; mother, Jean Smith; sister, Sherry Smith (Robert), brother, Larry Smith (Angela); several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Friday, September 10, 2021 at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Kiley Goen. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
