Donald Brett Cook, 86, of Hazel Green, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021. He was born February 11,1935 to Clarence and Melba Cook in Meridian, MS. He was born a rocket scientist and loved his work. He also served in the U. S. Army Security Agency and spent two years typing Morse code.

Mr. Cook is survived by his wife Barbara Cook; children: William Henry Cook, Jesse McKinley Cook, Karla Schultz (Steven), Donald Brett Cook, Jr. (Jan), and Lesle Groves; grandchildren: Nora Schultz, Ruth Schultz, Stewart McGill, Jacob Groves, Shiloh Beech (Matt), and Josie Groves; brother John Cook (Ann) and special friend John Rushing. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother Clarence Darrow Cook, Jr.

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 4,2021 from 10:00 am until 11:30 am at Spry Funeral Home with service to follow in the chapel. Interment will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
