Mark Hernandez Elgin, Texas Obituary

Mark Hernandez

Mark A. Hernandez, PhD, age 57, transitioned into heaven on September 1, 2021.

Born in San Antonio, Texas, growing up, Mark enjoyed being outdoors with butterflies, nature, and tennis.

As an academician, his love of learning was seen by his achievements of high school valedictorian and, later, by receiving not only a Yale undergraduate degree, but also his Master's and PhD degrees from Duke and Kansas Universities. In addition to living in Connecticut, Kansas, and North Carolina, he ventured on to explore even more of the US. His teaching career included being a professor in Grinell, Iowa, Bowling Green, Ohio, and continuing eastward where he enjoyed teaching in Boston at Tufts University. Mark's passion and love for the Latin American culture, history, and Spanish language was shared with his students, and his students' youthful energy and enthusiasm with him.

After sharing his knowledge across the U. S., Mark then ventured overseas to teach Spanish in Taiwan. Upon completing his teaching there, he enjoyed traveling the Orient and the many adventures and experiences with people halfway across the world from where he was raised.

Upon completing his Oriental travels, Mark returned to teach at a private high school in Chicago, IL. It seems his global travels sparked his search for new ways to help others. He became a practitioner of Dr. Bradley Nelson's Emotion Code and Body Code, unique systems to help those in need. When Mark's work expanded into helping animals,he created his company, "People and Pets". Over the latter part of his life, he blessed both people and animals

God worked through Mark throughout his life to help so many others in need.

His smile, intellect, passion, and love for family will be missed by both friends and family.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Hernandez, brother, Steven Hernandez, sisters Carole Devos, Stephanie Prado, and Michelle Hernandez, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A private life celebration will be held for Mark. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mark’s honor to Alaqua Animal Refuge.

So saddened to hear of Marks passing. Mark was an exceptional healer and will be extremely missed in the Healing Communities. "Mark I know that you will be continuing to assist all of the fur babies, as you have such a love and talent for animals".
