Growing up in the mission district of Calgary, he delivered news papers at an early age and left school after grade eight to start work in order to help provide for his family. In his profession he was well respected and was considered top in his field. At the age of fifty, he retired as President and CEO of HC Price of Canada, a major pipeline builder. In retirement he and Irene travelled the world. When the Grand children came along they both focussed their energies with them, from taking them shopping, or for a special trip, or helping with yard work, their world revolved around the kids. Jim enjoyed traveling, baseball, horse racing and the Stampeders football games. Jim’s favourite sayings were: “Easy Money”, “Skiizicks and Rube”, “What a Rube”, “Always respect the dollar”. He will be most remembered for his generosity, his big heart, and his caring for others.
