Cochran – Dawn Q. Jump, age 51, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021, in Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 4, 2021, at 11:00 AM, at First Baptist Church of Cochran, with Rev. Keith Rustin officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 PM in Philadelphia Methodist Church Cemetery in Hazlehurst. Dawn was born in Jeff Davis County, and was the daughter of the late Donald Edward and Joanne Miller Quarterman. She was a graduate of Jeff Davis High School, Class of 1988. Following high school, she attended Georgia Southern University, where she graduated as a member of the Class of 1992. Dawn taught biology at Jackson County High School and George Walton Academy, and was a homemaker to her husband and three boys. She has lived in Cochran since July 1, 1998, and was a member of First Baptist and the Believers Sunday School Class. Dawn had a passion for Christ, and extended that passion to others through local ministries, and abroad as a foreign mission worker. She is survived by her loving husband, Kevin Jump of Cochran; sons, Lee (Emily) Jump of Perry, John-Christopher (Lizzy) Jump of Warner Robins, and Joe Jump of Cochran; sister, Dana (Tim) Roberson of Hazlehurst. The family will greet friends following the service at First Baptist Church of Cochran.
