<p>Doris Jean Benjamin, age 98, of Lake City, passed away in her home on Sunday, August 29th, 2021.&nbsp; She was born on November 6, 1922 to William and Nell Moore and grew up in Jackson, Minn. where she met and married Robert Benjamin of Cumberland, Wis.&nbsp; Together they had four children.</p> <p>Doris earned her teaching degree from Mankato State Teachers College and later achieved a Master&rsquo;s Degree in teaching from Mankato State University.&nbsp; She began her teaching career in a one-room school in Alpha, Minn. and spent many years teaching 2nd grade in Stewartville, Minn.&nbsp; After retiring, she moved to Lake City in 1994.&nbsp; She had many interests including travel, music, dance, boating, and being with family and friends.&nbsp; She was blessed with the privilege of spending her final years in the comfort of her home thanks to the incredible care from Mary Kay, Steve, Debbie, Cindy, Linda, Linda, Shayna, Kelly, and Holly.</p> <p>She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Nell Moore; a sister, Bonny Petersen; her son Craig Benjamin; and a granddaughter, Chelsea Kramer.&nbsp;</p> <p>She is survived by her three children, Cheryl Milks of Lake Wales, Fla., Cindy Haugen of Ann Arbor, Mich., and David Benjamin of Moseley, Va.; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.</p> <p>Due to the current Covid environment her family is postponing a Celebration of Life event until a future date.&nbsp; Arrangements will be made through Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, Red Wing.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Obituary

Doris Jean Benjamin, age 98, of Lake City, passed away in her home on Sunday, August 29th, 2021.  She was born on November 6, 1922 to William and Nell Moore and grew up in Jackson, Minn. where she met and married Robert Benjamin of Cumberland, Wis.  Together they had four children.
