Clarence Melvin Keithley, Sr.

Clarence Melvin Keithley, Sr. of Aberdeen died Saturday, January 14 at Harford Memorial Hospital. He was 88. Born in Havre de Grace, MD he was the son of the late George M. & Gladys E. (Litzinger) Keithley and husband of the late Nance L. Keithley who died in 2015. A business owner, Mr. Keithley owned and operated Keithley's Citgo, Mel's 66, D &E Auto Service and Keithley's Transmission all in Aberdeen. A lifetime member of both the American Legion Post 128 and the VFW Post 10028, he was also involved in the Aberdeen Lions Club and was an Aberdeen Police Auxiliary. He is survived by his sons, Clarence "Melvin" Keithley, Jr. and wife Tina of Sumrall, Miss., Don Keithley and wife Sandy of Aberdeen and George Keithley of Aberdeen; daughters, Valerie Wilkerson of Westminster and Mary "Annette" Keithly-Briney and husband Rick of Churchville; brothers, Harold Keithley, Sr. of Zephyrhills, FL and Douglas Keithley, Sr. of Bel Air; eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by his sister, Doris Maines. A visitation will be held at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home on Friday, January 20 from 4-7pm with a funeral service to begin at 6:00pm.
