<p>A public visitation for Kat Otto of Roseau will be held Friday, September 3, 2021 from 5-7 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau.&nbsp; A public prayer service will start at 7 PM.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Kathleen Ella Otto, of Roseau, MN, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 27, 2021 at the age of 65 years, 11 months, and 19 days.</p> <p>Kat was born on September 7, 1955 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, to Robert and Hazel (Holmes) Foizie.&nbsp; Kat moved to the Roseau area in 1980 and worked at the Roseau Hospital in the nursing department. She worked in home health care for several years and was always taking care of those around her. She was married to Stacy Otto on October 14, 2006 and they made their home in Roseau. They shared many special moments together, laughing, watching movies, and being with family. No one loved Kat and took care of her the way Stacy did. She was passionate about her family, children, and grandkids. She enjoyed gardening and making a home where everyone felt welcomed and loved. Her life was dedicated to looking after and caring for those that were blessed to cross her path. She spoke in a soft, soothing voice when giving out sage advice. When she laughed, it echoed in the room and caused everyone to laugh with her. Her girls inherited her quirky and sharp sense of humor, and any friends brought home soon became Kat&rsquo;s adopted children.</p> <p>Her daughter Janna said it best. &ldquo;You were such a beautiful light and soul. You cared more about kindness and peace than anyone I have ever met and I thank you so much for instilling this in me. Your sweet smile and voice will never leave me. Thank you for being there for me always and forever. Until we see each other again, I love you Mamma.&rdquo;</p> <p>She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Foizie, sister Deirdre Foizie, grandson Jaxtyn Rodriquez, and mother-in-law Sandy Otto.</p> <p>She is survived by her mother, Margaret &ldquo;Hazel&rdquo; Foizie; sisters Bobbi (Gary) Swenson and Liz Weber; brother Gordon (Jeanette) Foizie; husband Stacy Otto; daughters Tanya Nelson, Katie (Daniel) Rodriquez, Samantha Reed, and Janna Dahl; step-son Sean Otto; grandchildren Neathan, Margaret, and McLeod Nelson, Josie Reed; several cousins, nieces, and nephews; and the countless friends that all became family.</p>

Kat was born on September 7, 1955 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, to Robert and Hazel (Holmes) Foizie.  Kat moved to the Roseau area in 1980 and worked at the Roseau Hospital in the nursing department.
