Christy Lea Vierra
<p>Christy Lea Vierra, age 38, of Alamogordo, New Mexico, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. She was born in Alamogordo, New Mexico, to Toni Smith and Ray Van Cleave on June 23, 1983. She was the youngest of three sisters. She is survived by her husband Richard Vierra, her stepchildren Genevieve, Victoria, and Richard Jr., her mother Toni Smith, her sisters Dawn Van Cleave and Erika Caldwell, and her grandparents Jesus and May Moreno along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. </p> <p>Christy attended NMSU where she completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Individualized Studies with Honors. </p> <p>On June 15, 2019, she married the love of her life, Richard Vierra. She loved her family above all else. Christy was the “momma” of four precious dogs. Christy thoroughly enjoyed the company of her pets and always selflessly cared for and provided for these beloved companions. She loved spending time outdoors with her husband Richard and stepchildren. She loved reading, gardening, listening to music, and everything to do with fairies. </p> <p>Christy’s genuine smile and infectious laughter will be truly missed. Her giving heart and beautiful soul were inspirational to all around her and will carry on in the hearts of all who knew her. Christy showed us what love is. </p> <p>Christy loved flowers, and so to honor her, we are encouraging everyone to bring flowers, even a single flower to give to her would be greatly appreciated. </p> <p>The Funeral service for Christy Lea Vierra will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel. <br /> <br /> Burial will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery in Alamogordo.</p> <p>The Vierra family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.</p>Obituary
