Florence T. Dudenhoeffer, age 93 of Linn, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Florence was born on April 9, 1928, in Luystown, a daughter to the late Ferdinand “Fred” and Annie (Kremer) Backes.
Florence was a graduate of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic High School in Frankenstein.
On September 17, 1949, she was united in marriage to Alfons Dudenhoeffer, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein. He preceded her in death on July 20, 1998.
In addition to be a homemaker, she was employed at the Missouri Division of Employment Security in Jefferson City. She also worked with her husband on the family farm.
Florence was a member of St. George Catholic Church, St. Ann’s Sodality, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and she volunteered at the Good Shepherd Food Pantry in Linn.
She enjoyed embroidery, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Florence is survived by her nine children, Dave (Joan) Dudenhoeffer of Linn, Glenda Dahlstrom of Jefferson City, Roy (Lisa) Dudenhoeffer of Linn, Lois (Dennis Sandbothe) Jaegers of Jefferson City, Ralph (Kathy) Dudenhoeffer of Linn, Tom Dudenhoeffer of Jefferson City, Carl (Joyce) Dudenhoeffer of Linn, Mike (Denise) Dudenhoeffer of Cairo, and Kenny Dudenhoeffer of Linn; 24 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren; two sisters, Josephine Dudenhoeffer of Jefferson City and Rita Bonnot of Jefferson City; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents and spouse of 49 years, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Bernadine Schulte, Nelda Keilholz, and an infant sister, Mary Agnes; a son-in-law, Allen Dahlstrom; a daughter-in-law, Linda Dudenhoeffer; a granddaughter, Ginny Wattler and a great grandson, Jackson Moore.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 30, 2021, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with Fr. Colin Franklin as Celebrant. Interment will be in the St. George Parish Cemetery.
The family has requested that masks be worn, and social distancing guidelines be practiced by all who attend the services for Florence.
