Nellie M. Reed

PEORIA—Nellie M. Reed, 96, of Peoria, passed away at 5:48 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Heartland Health Care in Peoria. Born May 21, 1919 in Sullivan, IL, the daughter of Charles and Anna Fowler Schweitzer, Nellie married Morrell E. Reed March 12, 1938 in Peoria. He died April 2, 1992 in Peoria. Also preceding her in death was her brother, Charles Schweitzer and son-in-law, Ronald Clemons. Surviving are one daughter, Marilyn Clemons of Metamora; three grandchildren, Jeff (Lori) Clemons of Wisconsin, Tracy (Dave) Capperrune of Peoria Heights, Lance (Abbe) Clemons of California; her great-grandchildren, Carmen (Gilli) Coren of California, Ben Clemons of Chicago, Zach (Kayla) Clemons of Wisconsin, Lindsey (Adam) Singley of St. Joseph, IL, Molly Capperrune of Peoria Heights, Abby (William) Lassley of Peoria, Mattie Clemons of California, Ingrid Clemons of California; great-great grandchildren, Adrian Young of Peoria Heights, Ruby Singley of St. Joseph, Sydney Clemons of Wisconsin, Adalyn Clemons of Wisconsin, Nola Coren of California and Nova Coren of California. She worked at the Shoe Factory in Sullivan, the cafeteria at Bradley University and R.G. LeTorneau and Trefzger's Bakery. Nellie enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She also enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening. Her family will miss her greatly. Visitation will be Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at The Wilton Mortuary. Services will be private.
