James Donald McKown Sr., age 84 of Carrollton Georgia, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021.  He was born on March 23, 1937 in Douglasville, GA, son of the late Curtis Hugh McKown, Sr. (Papa Mac) and the late Ruby Lee Colfield McKown (Mama Mac).  He retired from Ashland Oil and Chemicals Company.  He owned Webb’s Cleaning Center in Mableton GA, J. Carl Cleaner’s of Carrollton, GA, Modern Cleaner’s, Barnsville, GA.  He was an avid golfer for over 60 years and loved being on his tractor.  Donald was voted best looking in his senior class, Douglas County High School, 1955.  More than anything he loved his Lord and Savior!  He was a member of First Baptist Church Villa Rica. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Cochran McKown; daughters: Debbie McKown (Scott) Harper of Bremen, GA; Donna McKown McGinnis of Roopville, GA; Denise McKown (Tracy Sr.) Palmer of Bremen, GA; Dana McKown (Greg) Kirby of Douglasville GA; Son: James Donald McKown Jr. of Carrollton, GA; Sister: Betty McKown Brown, his twin sister Darlene McKown Mann, Barbara McKown Pair.   10 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.  Numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: John Hugh McKown, Sr.; Curtis Hugh McKown, Jr.; Dewey Cofield McKown-(Jack) and sisters: Lillian McKown Rainwater; Eleanor McKown Gilland, Mary McKown Collins. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church in Douglasville, GA.
