ANDRONICO, VINCENT G. DDS August 12, 2016, age 97 Beloved husband of Dolores M. (nee Comerate) Andronico; loving father of Thomas J., Rosanne (Randy Myers) Andronico and Mary Ellen Ulmer; cherished grandfather of Nicole, Thomas and Jacob Ulmer; adored great-grandfather of Rashad Ulmer; caring brother of Marie (late Anthony) Panzarella; also survived by nieces and nephews. The family will be present on Monday from 4-8 PM at the GRECO FUNERAL HOME, 2909 Elmwood Avenue, Kenmore (near Sheridan Drive), where prayers will be offered on Tuesday at 8:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated from St. Leo the Great Church, 885 Sweet Home Road, Amherst at 9:15 AM. Andronico, a dentist and longtime Amherst resident, died Friday in Weinberg Campus, Getzville. He was 97. Born in Hamilton, Ont., Dr. Andronico grew up on Buffalo's West Side and was a graduate of Hutchinson High School. He was a 1946 graduate of the University of Buffalo's School of Dentistry and during the Korean War era, served as a captain in the Army Dental Corps, practicing dentistry at bases throughout Europe. In 1961, he and his wife, the former Doris Comerate, moved their young family to Amherst. Dr. Andronico practiced dentistry for 50 years, retiring in 1996. His first office was on Niagara Street before he moved to Amherst. A parishioner of St. Leo's Catholic Church, he was a member of the Holy Name Society, Parish Council and Young at Heart. An avid golfer, Dr. Andronico was a member of the Transit Valley Country Club and shot his first hole-in-one at the age of 62. He also served as president of the Skating Club of Buffalo and competed in couples dance. He bowled in the Buffalo Dental Association League and Suburban Lanes League. Dr. Andronico also was an enthusiastic gardener and grew a variety of roses. Survivors in addition to his wife of 66 years include two daughters, Mary Ellen Ulmer and Rosanne; one son, Thomas; a sister, Marie Panzarella; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday in St. Leo the Great Church, 885 Sweet Home Road, Amherst. Funeral Home: Greco Funeral Home 2909 Elmwood Ave. Kenmore, NY US 14217
