Carole Pelletier Obituary

Carole L. Pelletier, 79 years of age, passed away peacefully surrounded by all 6 of her children, her husband and other family on August 20, 2021 in Blaine, Minnesota. Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Wilfred & Myra Kane. She is survived by her husband, Bernard Wiklund; her sons and daughters: Kevin (Penny), Brenda, Jeff (Julie), Danny (Donna), Renae, Terry (Lisa); 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and many other family and friends. Carole was born in Platteville, Wisconsin on February 21, 1942 to Wilfred and Myra Kane. She was an only child, and was raised in Platteville. She graduated from Platteville High School in 1960. September 30, 1961 Carole married Dennis Pelletier. Together they had 6 children. Carole & Denny raised their children on Russell Avenue in North Minneapolis. One of her children's fondest memories is how she was always cooking and baking. And she was very good at it. They remember making many trips to Platteville to see their grandparents: a little two bedroom house and people sleeping everywhere, including the boys sleeping outside in the family van. They also remember how selfless Carole was, always putting others' needs before her own. Carole had several occupations over the years. The greatest was raising her children. She most recently worked as a receptionist. June 11, 2005 Carole married Bernie Wiklund. They enjoyed many adventures together. After retirement she was a senior companion for Lutheran Social Services and Anoka County, visiting elderly, providing friendship and helping with any needs they had. Through her husband being a Mason, she became a member of the Eastern Star. She was a Shrine Lady and was very active with the Shriners, attending many dinners, parties, conventions, cruises, and other events. Carole and Bernie were Potentate's Aides. They also were received into full membership of Family Worship Center. She also took great pride in taking her firearm safety and receiving her permit to carry. She had excellent marksmanship! She loved flying, and speed. She especially loved flying in the B-17. Carole's ashes will be buried alongside her parents in an immediate family gathering in the Spring of 2022 at Hillside Cemetery, Platteville, Wisconsin.
