<p>Paulene Bengtson, age 89, of Howard, died Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Society in Howard. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at St. Agatha Catholic Church in Howard. Inurnment will follow at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Sioux Falls.</p> <p>Pauline Bengtson was born August 18, 1932 in Eagle Butte, SD. She graduated Cathedral High School in Sioux Falls, SD in 1950. After high school, she attended the College of Sacred Heart and received a BS Ed. She joined the Dominican Sisters and taught elementary school for several years.</p> <p>After leaving the Dominican’s she continued teaching elementary school. At the time of her death, she was a resident of the Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home in Howard.</p> <p>She is survived by her sister-in-law Judy Bengtson, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. </p> <p>She was preceded in death by her parents Emil and Loretta (Lawrence) Bengtson, sisters Helen (Joseph) Senden, Florence (Dale) Kohles ((Lewis) Muller) and brother John (Judy) Bengtson.</p>Obituary
