Cochran - Tommy I. Sanders passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Navicent Health Medical Center in Macon. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home, with Robbie Passmore officiating. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Macon. Tommy was born in Bleckley County and was the son of the late Vernie Sanders and Mary Barlow Sanders. He had lived in Macon for several years before moving back to Cochran in 1985. Tommy was a truck driver for the Forsyth Milk Co. and was retired from Sanders Logging Company. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Wayne Sanders. He is survived by his wife, Betty G. Sanders of Cochran; daughter, Tisa Odom of Cochran; step son, Billy C. Trotter of Evansville, IN; nephew, Richard Sanders of Cochran; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. The family is at the Sanders residence on Ruth Church Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
