Imelda E. Quinn, "Mel", age 91, of Chaska, MN, formerly of NY, entered eternal life on Friday, August 13, 2021, at Friendship Manor in Shakopee. Imelda was born in Hollis, NY, on October 1, 1929, the daughter of John A. and Cecelia B. (Ustick) Spellman. She was married to Joseph T. Quinn. Mel was a longtime resident of northern Virginia, and recently moved to Minnesota to be closer to her daughters. She was an avid sports fan, and although she still loved her Washington teams, she became a big Minnesota Twins, Timberwolves, and even a Vikings fan. She liked watching the game show network, doing crosswords and playing bingo. Mel had a very strong faith in God, and she served others as a volunteer at a food pantry in Virginia. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they meant the world to her. Mel is survived by her daughters, Denise Imelda Gilmartin and husband, Mike, and Colleen Quinn Davis and husband, Steve; son, Christopher John Quinn and wife, Wendy; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; son, J. Mark Quinn; daughter, Maura Quinn Diamond; brother, John A. Spellman, Jr.; sister, Bernadette C. McTighe. Private family services were held at McNearney-Schmidt Funeral Home, Shakopee, MN.
