Austin Theodore Samuel Hughes
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Austin Theodore Samuel Hughes</strong>, 95, went home to be with the Lord on August 17, 2021. He was born September 20, 1925 in Tredegar, Wales to the late <strong>Frederick</strong> and <strong>Edith Hughes</strong>.<strong> Austin</strong> had grown up working in the coal mines as a blacksmith. At age 22 he immigrated to the U.S., and worked at a ranch in Idaho. <strong>Austin</strong> then moved to Akron, Ohio and met and married his wife, <strong>Carol</strong>. He became a U.S. Citizen and had worked for 34 years for the Ohio Brass Company. <strong>Austin</strong> retired from Spiral International at age 78 where he worked as a Heat Treater. For a number of years, he belonged to the Akron Masonic Lodge. Being an only child, he was very close to <strong>Carol’s</strong> family, and the family that he produced.</span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Austin </strong>was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, <strong>Carol</strong>. He is survived by his sons,<strong> David </strong>(<strong>Susan</strong>) Hughes, <strong>Eric</strong> (<strong>Fran</strong>) <strong>Hughes</strong>; daughters, <strong>Andrea</strong> (<strong>Steve</strong>) <strong>Bucher</strong>, <strong>Heidi </strong>(<strong>Steve</strong>) <strong>Henry</strong>; grandchildren, <strong>Stephanie </strong>(<strong>Joel</strong>) <strong>Pritchett</strong>, <strong>Zachary</strong> (<strong>Liz</strong>) <strong>Hughes</strong>, <strong>Nathanael</strong> (<strong>Lindsey</strong>)<strong> Bucher</strong>, <strong>Amber Bucher</strong>, <strong>Ryan</strong> (<strong>Brenna</strong>) <strong>Hughes</strong>, <strong>Megan</strong> (<strong>Ryan</strong>) <strong>Colby</strong>, <strong>Joshua Henry</strong>, and 4 great-grandchildren.</span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size:18px;">Friends may call at Bacher Moore Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd., Akron, Ohio 44319 on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 12 – 1 p.m., where services will be held 1 p.m., with<strong> Rev. Lynn Shertzer</strong> officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. </span></p>September 20, 1925 - August 17, 202109/20/192508/17/2021
