John W. Knox

Dover, NH - John W. Knox, 85 of Dover died Tuesday June 5, 2012 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation after of brief illness.

He was born April 18, 1927 in Farmington the son of Earl L. and Eva (Bickford) Knox.

John was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served during W.W. II. He served his full enlistment and later enlisted again in the Air Force, he retired as a Master Sergeant in 1987.

John was a schoolteacher having taught woodworking at Proctor Academy in Andover, New Hampshire for several years. He was a man of few words and many talents and was an excellent carpenter.

Members of his family include his wife of 30 years, Gina Knox of Dover; one son, Patrick Knox and his wife, Susan of Raleigh, North Carolina; two step-daughters, Pati Frew-Waters, and her husband, Erich and their son, Seth of Dover and Janice Trueman and her husband, Ray and their sons, Zachary and Christopher of Newfields; two brothers, Stanley Knox and his wife, Lydia of Homestead, Florida and Daniel Knox and his wife, Becky of Georgia; one sister, Jackie Eastman of Exeter; a special cousin, Mavis Rutherford of Tilton; and several nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services will be private and held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to Seacoast Family Promise, PO Box 233, 6 Emery Lane, Stratham, NH 03885
