Frederick Benjamin Schaich Obituary

Frederick Benjamin Schaich, 82, of Accident, MD and formerly of Baltimore, died Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Mon Health, Morgantown, WV. Born April 29, 1939, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Frederick August and Anna M. (Unglaub) Schaich. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mildred Byrd. He was retired from ACI, Baltimore as a data processor and had served in the U.S. Army. Fred was a Past Master of Washington Lodge #3, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons and was also active in Oakland Lodge #192, A.F & A.M. He was active in Overlea DeMolay chapter and the Parkville Job's Daughters, as well as a member of the Baltimore Consistory, Scottish Rite and Baltimore Forest, Tall Cedars of Lebanon. Locally, Fred volunteered at the Deep Creek Discovery Center and attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Accident. Surviving are his wife, Regina Margaret (Hehn) Schaich, one son, F. Christian Schaich and wife, Lois, Milton, GA; one daughter Carol Brewer and husband, Troy, Phoenix, MD and seven grandchildren, Allie, Tyler, Noah, Mackenzie, Taylor, Adam and Samantha. Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 26722 Garrett Highway, Accident, on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, from 1-3 pm, at which time a service will be held by the Rev. Peter Suwak. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 11 am, at Maryland Masonic Homes, Bonnie Blink Chapel, 300 International Circle, Cockeysville, MD. The family will receive friends from 9-11 am. Washington Lodge #3, A.F. & A.M. will hold a Masonic Memorial Service at 10:45 am. Masks will be required at the Bonnie Blink Chapel. Interment will follow in Moreland Memorial Park, Parkville, MD.
