Obituary
Richard A. Bursey Sr. (Dick) AKA Rip – Age 83, husband of Cynthia (Cameron) Bursey – the love of his life - died Friday at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Boston, September 4, 1937, a son of the late William and Flora (Bradbury) Bursey and was raised in Arlington and moved to Billerica in 1966. Richard was employed as a Machinist having worked at Mill Lane Engineering for 32 years then retiring from J. Kittredge and Sons. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Billerica, the Billerica Masonic Lodge, the Shriners, the Widows Sons, and was a former member of the Billerica Police Auxiliary for 18 years. Richard enjoyed cars, motorcycles, flea markets, and spending time with family at his land in Newport Center, Vermont. Richard was an avid blood donor, donating 127 pints of blood over the years. Richard is survived by his daughters, Joy LeDoux and Heather Bursey of Billerica; his sons, William Bursey and Jeffrey Bursey of Chelmsford and Andrew Bursey “Charlie” of Billerica; his brother, William Bursey of Newport, VT and his grandchildren, Samantha, Amber, Alex, Cameron, Michael, Hope, Ava, Trevor, Kalliope and Annalise. Richard is also survived by his extended daughter, Melissa Bettencourt, and his beloved doggie, Jazzy. Richard was predeceased by his Sister Ruthy Lavash, and long-time best friend, Edward Petitpas. Visiting hours will be held Sunday at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 2-5 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Monday at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
