Mark Anthony Mahoney

October 5, 1959 - July 17, 2021

Mark Anthony Mahoney, 61, of Long Beach, California, formerly of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away suddenly on July 17, 2021. He is remembered as a loving brother, proud uncle and caring friend. He will be greatly missed.

Mark was born on October 5, 1959 in Louisville, Kentucky to Adolph “Mac” and Nina (Salerno) Mahoney. Growing up in a military family, he attended many schools across the U.S. and Europe and was quite accomplished in the German language.

He worked mainly as a chef and artist over the years. Mark had an immense love for his family and was a wonderful friend to all.

He had a passion for drawing, collecting comic books, socializing and above all else food, especially Italian. He loved Sundays because it was always pasta and sugo night.

He was a veteran, enlisting in the US Army in 1981, at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

Mark is survived by his sisters, Jody Braun and Mari Kurzawinski and their families.

He is reunited in Heaven with his parents, Nina and Mac, his infant brother John, his niece, Laura and his nephew, Zachary.

Memorial donations may be made to Century Villages at Cabrillo Housing in Long Beach, California for veterans and the vulnerable at the Donate link on their website. 

Graveside services will be held on August 19, 2021, 1:00pm, at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Louisville, Kentucky.
