Nancy Mieczkowski
Nancy Diane Kopec Mieczkowski, 75, of Hadley, Ma., passed away peacefully at her home on August 1, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Northampton MA. on March 18,1946 to the late Walter and Marie (Kwasniewski) Kopec Sr. Nancy graduated Hopkins Academy in 1963, and worked locally as a dental assistant for over 30 years. On June 26,1964 she married her high school sweetheart John S. Mieczkowski Sr. They had five beautiful children; Teresa (Mieczkowski)and her husband Kevin Kavanaugh of Southampton, MA; Debi (Mieczkowski) and her husband Mark Miller of Porters Corner, NY; Roxanne (Mieczkowski) Downie and her husband Rich of Hadley, MA; Johanne (Mieczkowski) and her husband Raymond Kostek of Hadley, MA: Johnny Mieczkowski Jr of Hadley, MA. She had 16 grandchildren; Brittany (Kavanaugh) Tryon, Erika (Kavanaugh) Placzek, Brooke Kavanaugh, Ashleigh (Miller) Giffin, Jennifer (Miller) Grolemund, Nicholas Miller, Ryan Miller, Zachery Miller, Carter Miller, Alivia Miller, Patrick Downie Falls, Hunter Downie, Gabrielle Downie, Jackson Downie, Gracie Mieczkowski and Edward Mieczkowski. She will also be remembered by her sister Donna Kopec-Keith, her brother Walter Kopec II and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her sibling Wayne Kopec. Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family at the Connecticut River, going to the beach in Rhode Island, bowled for many years on a Women’s League and watching and identifying the many birds that visited her bird feeders. She also leaves behind her beloved pup, Nikita, whom was by her side at all times. The family would like to thank Cooley Dickinson VNA and Hospice for the wonderful care she received. Funeral services will be held from Czelusniak Funeral Home on Thursday August 5 at 9 AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial at Most Holy Redeemer Church in Hadley at 10 AM and burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Hadley. Calling hours will be on Wednesday August 4 from 4 PM-7 PM.
