David W. Varney, Sr.
<p><strong>CONCORD – David W. Varney, Sr., 62, of Concord, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.</strong></p> <p><strong>Born on August 19, 1958 in Lewiston, ME, he was the son of the late Charles Varney, Sr. and Rae (Stanhope) Varney.</strong></p> <p><strong>David was educated in Salem, NH schools and went on to serve his country in the United States Navy until 1983. He worked for over 20 years for the Northeast Resource Recovery Association as a Weight Manager until his retirement. David’s world was complete the day he became a grandfather. His grandchildren could do no wrong and he could never spend enough time with them. An avid animal-lover, he also enjoyed camping and sitting by the bonfire, tinkering with cars and being a family man.</strong></p> <p><strong>In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his granddaughter, Priscilla.</strong></p> <p><strong>He is survived by his wife Jacqueline (Rosa) Varney of Concord with whom he shared 36 years of marriage; his children, David W. Varney Jr. and his wife Amanda of Concord and Jennifer Varney of Hopkinton; his siblings, Chuck Varney and his wife Susan of Canterbury, Allen Varney and his wife Joy of Virginia Beach, VA, Phyllis Lanouette and her husband David of Salem and Carolyn Varney of Salem; his grandchildren, Audrey, Lillian, Natalie, Charlotte, Ryan, Jacob and Kaden as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.</strong></p> <p><strong>A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 19th from 5PM-7PM at the Common Man Restaurant in Concord with Military Honors. The Petit-Roan Funeral Home in Pembroke is assisting the family with arrangements.
