On Thursday, December 24, 2009, after a brief illness, the Lord called home our loved one, Sharon Rene Wallace. Sharon was born on April 6, 1962 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, to the late Calvin Wallace Sr. and Mary Ellen Wallace (Taylor). Sharon was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Kenneth Wallace. Sharon graduated from Elizabeth High School (formerly Battin) in Elizabeth, New Jersey. After graduation, Sharon started her career at the Prudential Insurance Company in Newark, New Jersey before becoming an administrative assistant at the East Orange High School, Campus #9, a position she held for almost 20 years. Sharon is survived by six sisters - Queen Wallace, Roberta Lauria, and Phyliss Haley (Reggie) of Plainfield, New Jersey; Audrey Hamrick (Al) of Williamsburg, Virginia; Hilda Thomas (Eddie) of Northampton, Pennsylvania; and Doris Wallace of Iselin, New Jersey; two brothers, Nathan Wallace (Zita) of Brooklyn, New York and Calvin Wallace Jr. of Kinston, North Carolina; an uncle, Sylvester Wardell Wallace of Plainfield, New Jersey; an aunt, Virginia Pressey of Williamsburg, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Love embraces us all, no matter where we are. We could be ever so close, but yet so far. Love brings us together in many, many ways. We remember times gone by and longed-for days. Your death brings us together, sad and in tears. Our hearts are heavily burdened by all the lost years. God in His wisdom has beckoned you to come. We love you, but know now you're finally home.
