Roderick Emerson Corhern was 74 years old, born in Starkville Mississippi, on August 11, 1946. He passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021. Rod was a resident of Newark Delaware at the time of passing. He previously lived in New Smyrna Beach and Miami Florida, Wilmington Delaware and traveled the world for work and vacations. He was in the Navy from 1966 to 1971 serving in Japan and the Philippines working as an airplane mechanic. Rod was married on Sept 26, 1970 to Venancia (Vee) Mapa Corhern for 50 years, renewing marriage vows on their 40th anniversary. Rod was full of love and always willing to help those in need. He had a gift for story telling, It was more exciting to hear him recite what happen than actually being there. He had a knack of being able to put the spot light on interesting details that might have gone unnoticed. This made stories more intriguing by his retelling of what happened than would have been otherwise if you were actually there. Grab the popcorn, Rod’s telling another story. Survivors include his wife, Venancia (Vee) Mapa Corhern, brothers and sister In-law, Sarles Robert (Bob) Corhern, Sidney (Sid) David Corhern, George Bernard Corhern, Patrick Allen Corhern, Rita Mask, Ana M Meade, Maribel Homoc and Maribeth Homoc; nephews and nieces, Jonthan David Corhern, Austin Sarles Corhern, Cheyenne B Corhern; and step nephews, Jason Moore and Shawn Moore.
