Helen Elizabeth Bland, 91, passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Durwood Bland.

Helen retired as the Manager of the Bookstore at Lenoir Community College and was a faithful member of Sharon United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Charlie “Chuck” Bland, Jeffrey Bland, both of Kinston, Wayne McDowell; daughter, Evelina McCollum of Wilmington; grandchildren, Justin Bland, Jared Bland, Chad Rollinson, and Amber Strother; great grandchildren, Faith Bland, Seth Bland, Julian Strother, Daniel Strother, Conner Strother, and Katie Strother.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Pinelawn Memorial Park, with Pastor Clint White officiating.
