Brenda Shorey, 71 of Kissimmee, passed away July 22, 2021. She was born in Baldwin County, Alabama, the daughter of Sylvester Acree and Robie Hobson Acree.
Brenda married her husband Roger just after high School and they were happily married for 54 years. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, her sisters, nieces and nephews. She loved running and ran countless local races. Brenda loved going to Atlanta for the Peachtree Road Race; her favorite was the Marine Corp Marathon in Washington, DC which she completed 8 times.
Brenda loved to create beautiful pieces with yarn and fabric, also needlepoint. Her completed work was perfection, often created from memory. She was pleased to receive numerous blue ribbons for her entries at the County Fair exhibits throughout the years. She loved spending quiet time in Minnesota working on her latest masterpiece. Brenda loved to take trips with her husband Roger. She had many fond memories of trips taken with her family and sisters.
Brenda is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Roger Shorey of Kissimmee, Florida; son: Roger Tor Shorey and his wife Amy of Orlando, Florida; daughter: Jennifer Jones of St. Cloud, Florida; 3 sisters: Norma Johnson, Leetha Acree and Peggy Gillette all of St. Cloud, Florida and 4 grandchildren: Taylor Jones and Tara Jones both of St. Cloud, Florida, Regan Shorey and Ryan Shorey both of Orlando, Florida.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Brenda will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 15, 2021 at the Roger C. Thompson Memorial Chapel at Conrad & Thompson Funeral Home.
