Carolene Dieckman

Carolene Dieckman (nee Calihan), passed away on July 30, 2021 at Hopice of Cincinnati in Anderson Township at the age of 73. She was born in Roxanna, Kentucky, daughter of Ann and John Calihan. Carolene was the beloved wife of Jack L. Dieckman for almost 50 years, cherished mother of “miracle baby”, Lee Andrew Dieckman (partner Alexandra Dietzgen), dear sister of Theresa Payne, Susan Wagner, Dale Calihan and the late Gary Calihan. Also survived by her very close friend, Alverdia Moss. Carolene was a longtime member of the New Richmond Garden Club. Family and friends are invited to a visitation for Carolene on Tuesday, August 3 from 9-11 AM at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home, 177 W. Main St., Amelia followed by her funeral service at 11 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (<a href="http://www.stjude.org">www.stjude.org</a>) or to Shriners Burns Institute, One Children’s Plaza – 2 West, Dayton, OH 45404.

I got to know Carol when we worked together at Pierce Elementary. She was always so kind and caring. What a blessing to have such a positive, compassionate person greeting all who entered the building! My deepest sympathies to all who loved her.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Carol. I remember her as the really nice secretary at Pierce school. I was on the life squad back then and she was always so sweet to the kids when they got sick or injured. She will be missed. Scott Light
