Shirley McAuliffe

On July 26, 2021, in her 95th year, Shirley McAuliffe (nee LeMaistre) peacefully passed away after a very long and heartbreaking mental and physical decline due to Alzheimer’s. Beloved wife of the late Ivan McAuliffe (2003) and the daughter of the late John and Florence LeMaistre of Almonte, Ontario. Shirley was a loving mother to her daughters, Nancy (Robert Cormier), the late Joanne Seymour (2020) and special daughter Adele (Jim Wallace). She loved and was loved by her grandchildren Shane Warner (Jennifer Routliffe), Jordan Warner (Krista Balenko), Auzsha Apps, Dustin Seymour (Mendara Chan), and great grandchildren Evan, Elle and Shea Warner, Violet and Lincoln Seymour. Sister of Grace Nelson and Jacqueline Brunelle. Shirley enjoyed a very successful career in the public service and until she began her battle with Alzheimer’s had a happy life with Ivan and the girls, their spouses and grandchildren. Shirley and Ivan were active members of the Rivermead Golf Club and spent their winters in Florida. Many thanks to the staff at New Orchard Lodge who lovingly and competently cared for Shirley these last 7 years.
