Donald J. Gagnon Obituary

THE VILLAGES, FL - Donald Gagnon passed away in his sleep surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, after a brief battle with an aggressive form of leukemia. He was 73.

Don (or “Donnie,” as his wife fondly called him) was born on June 7, 1948 in Boston, MA. He was an only child who always wanted a big family. He graduated from Lynn English High School in 1966 and went on to serve his country in the Air Force for four years. After the Air Force he became a car mechanic and eventually became the owner of many Shell gas-stations around the North Shore. Chances are that if you bought gas between 1979 and 2003 in or near Lynn, MA, you bought it from one of Don’s stations!

In 1973 his wish for a big family was granted when he met and fell in love with Mary Ann Lavallee. That love immediately grew to include her two children, Michael and Robynne. He and Mary Ann married in 1973. In 1974, his son Sean was born, turning their happy family of 4 into an even happier family of 5. Don and his wife retired to The Villages, Florida in 2009 where they lived until his passing.

Donnie loved his family fiercely but also loved to laugh, make jokes and travel to the Bahamas to spend time with his wife, children and friends.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann as well as his 3 children Michael Bradley and his girlfriend Kimberley Storms, Robynne Dwyer and her husband John, and Sean Gagnon and his wife Alison; his granddaughter Ashley Sanchez and her husband Josh; and his great-granddaughters Lily Dwyer and Mia Sanchez. He was predeceased by his grandsons, Randy Dwyer and Derrick Bradley, whom we are sure welcomed him into heaven with open arms.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 2, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Services with U.S. Air Force Honors will immediately follow. For guestbook, please visit www.driscollcares.com
