Ann Southerland Jones Mount Olive, North Carolina Obituary

Ann Southerland Jones

Ann Southerland Jones, life long resident of Mount Olive, passed away early Thursday morning, July 29, 2021 at her home. She was 63. Ann is lovingly remembered as being "the voice" of the Mt. Olive Pickle Company where she was employed for over 38 years as its receptionist. Ever friendly, gentle, and kind, Ann knew no strangers and her cheerfulness on the telephone guided many lost truckers onto the pickle company campus. Ann is survived by her husband, Neal Jones, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan Edward Jones and Christy Jones of Grantham; two grandsons, Bryson and Elijah Jones of Grantham; three brothers and a sister-in-law, E. A. Southerland, Jr. and Kay Blocksidge of Wilmington, William Robert Southerland of Dallas, Texas, and Johnny Southerland of Mount Olive; and a sister-in-law, Melissa Jones Little and husband, Darryl, and their family, of Mount Olive. Ann now joins in death her parents, Edward A. and Dorothy Southerland; a sister-in-law, Jacquelyn Bourgeois Southerland; and her father and mother-in-law, John William "Bill" and Faye Malpass Jones. A remembrance of Ann's life will be held Sunday, August 1, at 2 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home with visitation afterwards.
