Catherine Pezoli

Catherine Pezoli (Kay), age 92, of Livonia, Michigan, passed away on July 25, 2021. Catherine was born in Carnegie, Pennsylvania on April 10, 1929 to Stephen and Justine Humecki. When she was 10 years old her father moved the family to Livonia MI. Catherine was married to Julius Pezoli on September 23, 1949 in Detroit MI. They had one daughter, and Catherine remained married to “PZ” until his passing in 1983. After her graduation from high school Catherine worked as a produce and dairy manager at Packers Food Store and as a waitress. Upon marrying she soon became a mother, and a military wife for 20 years. She faithfully followed her husband on many adventures in duty stations across the globe. These included Bethesda, Maryland where their daughter was born, Cape Cod, Mass., Newfoundland, San Francisco, Morocco/ North Africa, Maryland/Washington DC, and Tirrenia, Italy. Catherine adapted easily to all of these living situations and cultures. She was friendly and accepting of individuals of all ethnic backgrounds and religions. She jumped right in and made lasting friendships with other military families as well the residents of the countries in which she lived. When her military years ended she settled back in her childhood home in Livonia, Michigan on Angling Rd. Here she lived out the remainder of her life helping and caring for her parents and siblings. She became known for her seamstress skills and was called upon to create many a prom dress, wedding dress, costumes, alterations etc. All she needed was a picture or idea and she was able to create it! During the past two and a half years Catherine has resided with her daughter in Howell, MI where she was loved and pampered after all those years of caring for others in the family. She became a participant and supporter of God’s Kitchen community dinner program, and attended the Be Our Guest Adult Activity program. She passed quietly and comfortably at home with her family by her side. Catherine is survived by her daughter Justina Schrock (Edward). Grand children: Eron Schrock (Rachel), Patrick Schrock (Cassady), and Emily Schrock. Great grandchildren: Jude and Jack Schrock and baby sister coming soon! Dear sister: Natalie Harding (Don) of Mashpee, Mass. Nieces and nephews include: Morgan, Lee, Todd; Terrance Cavins; Donna, Natalia Marie, Anna, Stephen; John, Stephen, Nicole, Carl. Catherine is preceded in death by her husband Julius Pezoli; Parents Stephen and Justine Humecki; Brothers and sisters Emil, Pearl, Nick, Harry, Daniel and Mildred. The visitation will be Monday, August 2, from 4pm to 7pm Funeral on Tuesday August 3, at 11:00 followed by internment at Grand Lawn Cemetery Visitation and funeral held at: Manns Family Funeral Home 17000 Middlebelt Rd Livonia, MI 40154 In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Catherine may be made to: God’s Kitchen/Food Bank 440 E.
