Carolyn L. Brannon Obituary

Carol Louise Jacobs Brannon, a long-time resident of Shreveport, LA was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She passed at home on July 27, 2021 with her husband by her side. Carol fought a long battle with cancer. Carol was born to Carroll and Mary Jacobs on June 26. After graduating high school, she married her first husband and had her only son, John. She later married Ron Brannon and was very happily married for 43 years. She worked for 32 years for AT&T until she retired. Carol was very adventurous most of her life and enjoyed riding motorcycles, skiing, and traveling with her husband in their RV. She was well known for her gardening skills and was very proud of her yard that was full of beautiful flowers, trees, statues, and azaleas. She had many requests over the years from people to use her yard as a photography backdrop. She also loved animals, especially her dogs Peppy and Cody. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Jacobs; father, Carroll Jacobs; and brother, Tony Jacobs. She is survived by her husband, Ron Brannon; son, John Abbott and wife Angel; granddaughters, Carol Anne, Haley, and Mary Abbott; grandsons Lucas and Logan Abbott; and many other family members and friends. The family will receive guests on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 starting 5:00 PM at Boone Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service for Carol will begin at 6:00 PM. Carol gave her family love, warmth and guidance. Her memory will continue for many generations. She will be missed greatly by everyone who had the honor and privilege of knowing her.
