Marguerite L. (Hammer) Cote, 88, of Plaistow, NH and formerly of Haverhill, died Monday evening, July 26 at Oceanside, Hampton, NH. She was born in Haverhill, April 29, 1933, daughter of the late Burton and Rita (Gazzotti) Hammer and was educated in the Haverhill school system. She earned her LPN and was employed for over 15 years at the original Hale Hospital, Haverhill. A former member of the Haverhill Garden Club, Mrs. Cote enjoyed knitting and painting. Her survivors include her husband of 69 years, Laurence G. Cote of Plaistow, NH, and their children, Laurence G. Cote, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Thousand Oaks, CA, Karen Cote of Phoenix, AZ, Dale Cote and his wife Karen of Raymond, NH, a brother, Joel Hammer and his wife Paula of Atlanta, GA, four grandchildren, Charlie Doherty, Dale Cote, Jr., Chase Cote and Alexis Cote and a great grandchild Eva Doherty. Mrs. Cote was also the mother of the late David Cote and sister of the late Carol Scammon and Robert Hammer. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation on Saturday morning, July 31, from 10:00 to 10:45 at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Walnut Cemetery, Haverhill.
