Marshall Hollis VanBuren Sr. of Lansing passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021 at the age of 61. Born October 20, 1959 to Hollis and Ruth (Stowell) VanBuren in Harrison, Michigan. Marshall or Mark, as he was often called enjoyed tinkering on automobiles. He was a handyman by trade and worked on everything but primarily automobiles. Mark enjoyed trading his fixed possessions for those that needed work on the facebook marketplace and craigslist. He always surrounded himself with people. Mark had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone in need. He was a father figure to many and will be missed dearly by all who remember him. Preceding him in death were his son, Joseph “JoJo” VanBuren; brothers, Tommy VanBuren, Harris VanBuren, Joseph VanBuren, Carl VanBuren; sisters, Patricia Morris, Marsha VanBuren, Susan Schinevar, sister-in-law Charlene VanBuren; as well as his parents. Surviving are his daughter, Erica VanBuren; son, Marshall “Marky” VanBuren Jr.; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild on the way; sister, Jane (Poncho) Jones; brothers, Willie (Patricia) VanBuren, Bob VanBuren as well as many nieces and nephews.
